About

A small studio for little makers.

We make creative things for children that are lovely to do, lovely to look at, and lovely to keep.

The Lilo story

Lilo started with a simple wish: a creative afternoon that didn't end with a table full of plastic, glitter in the carpet, and a finished thing nobody wanted to keep.

So we started small. One plaster figure, a few soft paints, a good brush, and a box you'd happily leave on the shelf. Something a child can finish in an afternoon, and a parent can sit beside without checking the time.

What we believe

  1. Less, but better

One good project beats a box of forty. We'd rather make fewer things and make them well.

  2. Made for the living room

Children's things live in the whole house. They should look like they belong there.

  3. The process is the point

No right answer, no perfect result. A purple dino is a correct dino.

  4. Time together, not just time

We design for the moment a parent pulls up a chair and picks up a brush too.

The founder

Started at a kitchen table.

Lilo Studio was started by a mother who couldn't find the kind of creative kit she wanted to give: calm, well made, and beautiful enough to stay out on the table.

Every kit is tried at home first, by small, honest testers who are not shy with feedback. If it isn't fun, it doesn't ship. If it doesn't look good on the shelf afterwards, it doesn't ship either.

Do less. Make it beautiful.
